Local historian, Don Robb, will explore the history (and the myths) of the American West from the perspective of five different intersectional frontiers: the Mining Frontier, the Railroad Frontier, the Ranching Frontier, the Farming Frontier, and the Indian Frontier. Each frontier affected the others and the exploration and settlement of the vast area of plains and mountains from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean. The lectures will be given in the following order:
2/7 - Mining Frontier
2/14 - Railroad Frontier
2/21 - Ranching Frontier
2/28 - Farming Frontier
3/7 - Indian Frontier
The lectures will also be available online at Andover TV.
