Grab & Go Coming November 2nd

Winter is coming! Memorial Hall Library's Contact-Free Curbside Pickup is now Grab & Go. 

Grab & Go, like Curbside Pickup, will be by appointment only. Instead of getting your bag from the tables outside, you'll head just inside the building where you'll grab your bag and go!
To place a curbside pickup (Grab & Go) order:
  1. Place your items on hold through the online catalog. You will need your library card number (the number off the back of your card) and your PIN (by default the last four digits of your phone number). Here is a video tutorial about how to place holds.
  2. Wait until you are notified that your holds are available. Depending on your account settings, you may receive your notifications by email, text message, or automated phone call. Even if the items you requested are currently available on the shelf, they must be located by a staff member, pulled from the shelf, and checked in before you are notified they are available. If you have requested items from another library, it will take time for that library's staff to find the item, check it in, and then for it to be transported from that library to MHL.
  3. Once you have been notified that your holds are available, please book a curbside (Grab & Go) appointment here. Click on "book now" and then "curbside pickup (Grab & Go)." All appointment times will change to 10am, but you can pick them up any time that day.
  4. Beginning Monday, November 2nd all bags will be on tables in the Activity Room located on the Lower Level, Monday through Thursday, 10am-7pm, Friday & Saturday, 10am-4pm. Stop by to pick up your items any time during these hours. You can pull up to the back of MHL (the door that faces the parking lot and leads to the Children's Room). Your items will already be checked out to you in a bag with your name on it. Please follow all social distancing protocols, including wearing a mask, when picking up your order.

Monday through Thursday, 9am - 9pm, Friday and Saturday, 9am - 5pm, Sunday 1pm - 5pm.

Hours for scheduled contact-free Grab & Go appointments:

Monday through Thursday, 10:00am-7:00pm; Friday and Saturday, 10:00am-4:00pm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a library card to do curbside pickup?
Yes. If you are an Andover resident and do not have a card, apply HERE. If you live outside of Andover and do not have a card please contact your local library.

Can I go inside the library to pick up my holds?
Yes. If you would prefer to come inside the library to check out your holds rather than arrange a curbside pickup, the library is open Monday-Thursday, 10am-7pm, Friday and Saturday, 10am-4pm and Sunday, 1:30-4:30pm.

What if I can't get out of my car due to mobility issues?
Let our staff know when you set up your appointment and we will accommodate you.

Can I schedule simultaneous pickups for other people in my household?

How do I return materials?
Our book drop is open for returns. No items will be accepted in person by library staff.

I returned my items but they are still showing on my account.
In order to ensure the safety of library staff all returned items are placed in quarantine for 3 days before being checked in. Call 978-623-8400 if you are still concerned.

How do I renew books?
The library automatically renews items unless they have holds or are non-renewable items. You can log into your account and check the status of your items using your library card number and PIN. Call 978-623-8400 if you have questions.

Are materials sanitized?
Most have been quarantined for 72 hours but library staff will have touched the items in preparation for pickup.
