The Children's room librarians are excited for a New Year and new books to read!  Ms Beth is recommending a New Year's story which shares the Haitian new year's tradtiion of making and eating freedom soup to celebrate freedom from slavery  Pick up the book Freedom Soup by Tami Charles where you'll learn about this tradtion and how to make freedom soup (recipe in the back of the book)  Then pop over to Growing book by book/Family Dinner Book Club web site for some discussion questions, suggetions for more new year's books, and other recipes inspired by Haiti.
