Summer Reading

June 16 to August 16, 2025

get ready for summer reading at your libraryHelp us reach our community goal of 750,000 minutes of reading this summer!

This year’s Summer Reading theme is “Level Up at Your Library,” which is all about play! Whether you like to puzzle, do the NYT Wordle every morning, or are a committed Dungeons and Dragons fan, games and play are a great way to connect us to our communities! Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of Memorial Hall Library, we are able to present our 2025 Summer Reading Challenges through a mobile app and website called Beanstack! We’ve used Beanstack for the past few years and enjoy the ease with which patrons can track their reading and prizes.

Beanstack is a free mobile app you can install on a smartphone or tablet or access through your browser on a computer. It allows you to participate in reading challenges through Memorial Hall Library. Like every year, we have programs set up for children, teens, and adults, and those programs are being run through Beanstack this year. When you follow the links to Beanstack, you’ll first create an account (which can be used for future challenges) and then you’ll see what Reading Challenges you can sign up for at this time. If you get lost or need help, please feel free to contact us.

We’ve made some videos on how to use Beanstack:

For our Mascot Challenge this summer, look for Goldie the Dragon squishmallow!

  • We challenge kids ages birth to 5th grade to read 1,000 minutes!  By logging at least 1,000 minutes in Beanstack by August 16th kids will be automatically entered for a chance to win a giant Squishmallow!
  • Each week, kids who read at least 100 minutes can come in to the Children’s Room and pick out a Jibbitz charm for the bracelet we provide or for their Crocs!
  • Keep an eye out on Main St for our mascot Goldie the dragon – enter her location on Beanstack each week for a chance to win more prizes!
  • Check out the calendar for more fun like special performances, hands-on activities, and Stories on the Road at some of our favorite places in town!

  • Our goal is for teens to read 10 hours (600 minutes) this summer and once they do so, they will receive a scratch ticket to win from our selection of prizes which include mini Squishmallows, candy, fidgets, gift cards, and more!
  • The more teens read, the more prizes they can earn. With each additional 10 hours (600 minutes) teens read, they can receive another scratch ticket.

  • Our adult reading goal is 10 hours (600 minutes) this summer.
  • Earn virtual badges for reading and writing reviews.
  • Adults who log 10 hours (or more) of reading in Beanstack will automatically be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a local gift card. Winners will be notified after August 16th.
  • For added fun, explore the library with our Level Up Summer Game for a chance to win a behind the scenes tour of the library.
