2024 Solar Eclipse

april 8 solar eclipse

Did you enjoy seeing the partial solar eclipse in 2017? You're in luck because Andover is in a great geographical location to experience a solar eclipse of about 92% totality on Monday, April 8!

Memorial Hall Library will be having an eclipse party starting at 3:00 pm outside of the library's back patio to view this exciting astronomical event. We will have a device called a Sunspotter which provides indirect viewing of the sun and is great for kids! See more information on our calendar.

The library has no more pairs of eclipse glasses available to give out ahead of the event but we will have some pairs available during the event along with other safe viewing options for the eclipse.

We look forward to seeing you on April 8 and don't forget to not look directly at the sun unless wearing proper safety equipment like this year's eclipse glasses!
