December 2025 Puzzle: Words of Wisdom from Gertrude Stein
Fill out this short questionnaire and let us know a little about the person you’re shopping for. In a few days, we’ll email you a short list of 3 to 5 books, music CDs and/or movies (whichever you prefer) that we think will be a good fit. And you can always check them out from the library first if you want to try before you buy.
November 2025 Mid-Month Sudoku
Dear sudoku solvers: With this month’s puzzle, we highlight a curious thing about the number nine, which as you know occurs in every sudoku puzzle exactly nine times. Take any whole number (other than zero) and multiply it by 9. Then add up all of the digits. If the sum is greater than nine, then add up all of its digits, and so on. Eventually you will get a sum of 9.
November 2025 Puzzle: Food for Thought
As the title suggests, this month’s crossword has something to do with food. If you or someone you know could use the services of a food pantry in the area, or if you would like to make a contribution to one, please have a look at our page on Food Resources in Essex County.
November 2025 Book of the Month
This November, we’re diving into The Cider House Rules by John Irving, a heartfelt story about finding your place in the world. It's a perfect read for crisp autumn days and long evenings so pick up your copy while supplies last!
