Summer reading starts for all ages on Monday June 16th and runs through Saturday August 16th! Kids in grades 5 and under can log their reading minutes on Beanstack throughout the summer – kids who read at least 100 minutes each week can earn a Jibbitz charm for their Crocs or bracelet, and kids who read at least 1,000 minutes by August 16th are automatically entered for a chance to win a giant Squishmallow! Learn more about Beanstack and prizes on our MHL Summer Reading page!
We’ll also have lots of programs this summer, including trivia challenges, making slime, bingo, storytimes around town, and more! A few programs to highlight this summer:
- Dungeons & Dragons: Kids in grades K-6 can learn how to play D&D at the library in a beginner-friendly format! You can click here to see all upcoming sessions for each group – if you’re interested in joining a group, you can email Olly at omcintyre@mhl.org!
- Reading Buddies: Kids in grades 1-3 can sign up to practice their reading skills by reading aloud with a 5th-6th grade volunteer! 20-minute sessions will be offered on Tuesdays 4PM-5PM or Thursdays 6:30PM-7:30PM starting July 15th, and sign-up is required!
- Sponsored by the Friends of Memorial Hall Library: Thanks to the Friends of MHL, we’ll have special events this summer, including:
