The Value of a Dollar

(available at home to Andover library cardholders)

Actually two online books — one covering the Colonial Era to the Civil War, the other from 1860 to the present — The Value of a Dollar gives the costs of thousands of items at various points in history as well as how much money people had to buy them at the time. Each section contains currency conversion tables. Both volumes are available in print at the library.
