Gifts to the Trustees Fund
The Trustees Fund is not used for regular library operations, like purchasing materials, payroll, and building maintenance. The Trustees Fund only supports initiatives that are outside the scope of the municipal appropriation. For example, the Trustees in recent years have provided scholarships to library pages, purchased public art like the Polar Bear sculpture, and supported staff professional development.
If you are interested in making a donation of cash or securities to the Trustees of Memorial Hall Library, or wish to remember the Trustees Fund in your will, please contact the Director (978-623-8415) or the Chair of the Board of Trustees. Contact the Director and she will put you in touch with the Chair.
If you would like to donate money in honor of or in memory of someone, please make checks payable to Memorial Hall Library and include who to notify or thank for the donation.
Just Because You Love Us Gifts
If you would like to donate money to the Library just because you love us, please make checks payable to Memorial Hall Library and include your contact information so we can thank you for your donation.
Donations/Memberships to the Friends of the Library
A great way to support the library is to join the Friends of Memorial Hall Library. You can also donate online to the Friends. The Friends support programs for all ages, concerts, museum passes and other special events. Checks should be made out to the Friends of Memorial Hall Library.
While we encourage our patrons to shop locally, there are times when you can’t find what you need locally. For those times when you order from Amazon, you can help the Friends by signing up and making your Amazon purchases through AmazonSmile. Amazon donates a small percentage of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the Friends of the Library.
Donations of New and Used Books and Media
When you donate books and media to the Library, you are actually donating the items to the Friends of the Library. The Library then selects those items that it needs for its collection. The rest are sold by the Friends at their book sales to benefit the library. In order to be added to the collection, new or used items donated to the library must meet our regular selection criteria as outlined in our Collection Development Manual. To learn more about donating items to the library, check out our Book Donation FAQs.
