Literacy in action!

If you haven't had a chance to visit one of our preschool story times we invite you to join us in November!  It is an especially good time to attend as November is Family Literacy Month! Our programs help parents and caregivers share rhymes, songs, simple stories and movement with our littlest customers starting at birth. The importance of singing, talking, reading and playing with young children is that it helps them to develop their language skills so they will learn to talk and eventually read, write  and be successful in school.  Story time is a great way to introduce children to interacting socially with other children too.  And it's FREE!  Check out our preschool brochure here for a schedule.
If your child is already in school don't worry we have some great programs for elementary-aged children too!  A link to our printable calendar can be found below.  Most programs require registration so visit our online event calendar to sign up.
If you have any questions about children's programming up to grade 5 please call the Children's Room at 978-623-8401 x39, or send an email to CR@mhl.org
