Getting ready for college looks a little different in the era of COVID-19! MHL is not currently offering in-person practice ACT and SAT exams, but we can connect you with other resources to get ready for these big tests.
- The practice exams previously offered in person at MHL were proctored by the Princeton Review. The Princeton Review is currently offering free online full-length practice ACT and SAT exams. You can learn more and register via their website. (Please note that while these practice exams are free, the Princeton Review charges for its other test prep materials.)
- MHL offers access to the online service Tutor.com, which includes a variety of self-paced Princeton Review test prep materials for the ACT, SAT, and other standardized tests. (Note: our licensing agreement with Tutor.com only allows patrons with Andover library cards to access the service. If you have a card from another MVLC library, you will not be able to access our Tutor.com subscription.) Click here to access a brief tutorial for getting started with Tutor.com.
- MHL also offers access to LearningExpress Library, which includes a different set of test prep materials for the ACT, SAT, and other standardized tests. (This service is also limited to Andover cardholders. However, if you have a Boston Public Library e-card--which are freely available to any Massachusetts resident--you can access BPL's LearningExpress Library subscription.) Click here to access a brief tutorial for getting started with LearningExpress Library.
Of course, we also have books! Here are some of our newest test prep books. Sometimes patrons ask us which is the "best" test prep book. Truthfully, they all cover the same kinds of information. They are just formatted differently, so some students may prefer one format while others prefer another. The library is a great place to check out multiple types of test prep books to discover which one is your personal preference.
