You can now use our Digitization Station to convert audiocasettes to digital files, which you can then burn onto recordable CDs.
The Digitization Station can continues to be available to digitize the following:
- vinyl LPs
- home videos on VHS or VHS-C casettes
- photographs (for high resolution files -- for scanning documents or stacks of photographs, our document scanner is much faster)
- film slides and negatives
In addition, if you bring in your own camcorder, we may be able to connect it to the Digitization Station to digitize whatever recordings you have on it.
The Digitization Station is located on Level 1 near the Reference Desk and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis whenever the library is open. If you'd like to play or convert old media formats* at home, be sure to check out the items in our Library of Things!
* "Old Media Formats" happens to be the theme of this month's crossword puzzle!
