Have you seen our Very Short Introductions series? We recently expanded the collection to over 500 titles! Each book in the series gives a brief introduction to a particular subject, intended for a general audience but written by experts in the field. If there's something that you're interested in learning more about, there's probably a Very Short Introduction about it! They cover topics ranging from the American Presidency to World Music to Colonization to the city of Byzantium to Cancer. If you try one and find you want to learn more about that subject, each book contains suggestions for further reading, which we'll be happy to find for you!
