How to Support Those at Risk for Suicide Virtual Program

September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day. Kendra McDonald of Samaritans, Inc. will present an hour long program about suicide, including information about identifying risk factors and warning signs, as well as skills their own helpline volunteers use to support those going through any number of mental health challenges. She will review some of the best ways to listen, to support, ask to get a clearer understanding, and get help to further support those who need it, as well as review resources, including self-care for those who support others.

Kendra McDonald, MS is the Manager of the Community Education and Outreach team at Samaritans, Inc. Prior to this role, Kendra has served in a number of hands-on roles in the mental health field including psychiatric inpatient care, therapy, and case management.
