Bespoke Book Bags (for Grownups)

Since we launched our children's book bundles and teen book bags, we've heard one question from a lot of jealous adults: why isn't there a service like this for us? Well, now there is! Tell us a little bit about your reading tastes, and MHL's reference staff will put together 2-5 books we think you'll like, check them out to you, and prepare them for pickup. Our goal is for the books we select for you to both fit the subject areas/genres you requested and represent a variety of identities in their authors and contents, in accordance with our support of the focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the 2020-2021 Select Board and Town Manager Goals and Objectives.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How long will it take to receive my book bag?

Once we receive your form, we will contact you within a week to let you know your bag is ready. It takes staff time to consider your request and pick the best books for you. Your bag will not be ready immediately after submitting the form.

Where will I pick up my book bag?

After the bags are assembled, they're placed on a cart near the reference desk, labelled with your name. Once you've been notified that your bag is ready, you can come in to pick it up there with no appointment required.

Can I get a book bag for a teen or child in my life?

Yes! Fill out this form to request a children's book bundle prepared by children's room staff or this form to request a teen book bag.

More questions? Feel free to contact us at rdesk@mhl.org or give us a call at 978-623-8430. If you're ready to request your book grab bag, continue on to fill out the form.

For each of the following, mark the button that indicates your interests.
(Please keep in mind that we understand that genres are fluid and some books/authors will fit into multiple categories, or that some readers may only enjoy certain subsets of a genre--you can tell us more about your preferences in the notes area at the end. For this section, select based on your overall feelings about a genre.)
